Are you aware of the Ork race in the table-top game Warhammer 40,000? Because this reminds me of them in two ways.
1. They have this sort of mental link to eachother and the things they make, tanks/guns/cars/bikes/submarines/you name it, that means despite the fact it shouldn't work because it's not connected properly or there's actually no power source or whatever reason, it does.
2. Whilst nowadays they look a bit different, what you've drawn reminds me of the original models and artwork for them, with old cobbled rooves on they're vehicles and mushrooms dotted around the place.
